Between May 9 and August 19, 2011, I walked 1 million steps and raised $1,500 for RAINN.
It’s time to celebrate all that’s been accomplished.
As promised, in this video I dance to one of the most humiliating songs in my collection, the one that got the most votes from my poll conducted over email, Twitter, Facebook, Google+ and Tumblr.
Enjoy.

As of this morning, the new fundraising goal of $1,500 for RAINN has been reached. WOOHOOOO!
As thanks for going above and beyond, I will dance to a humiliating song in my celebratory video this weekend. Reblog & comment with your choice for which song I should dance to by the end of the day Friday:
A) Groove is in the Heart by Deee-Lite
B) Stayin’ Alive by the Bee Gees
C) Axel F by Crazy Frog
Also, I am due to walk by 1 millionth step tomorrow.
Thank you all for your support and for spreading the word. If anyone still wants to donate, you can do so here.

Thank you to everyone who’s helped get the 1 Million Steps for RAINN campaign to its $1,000 goal!
We’re a month ahead of schedule, so if we can get to $1,500 by the end of August, I will do something embarrassing and/or awesome.
But you get to decide what.
Place your votes in the comments!

Between May 9 and August 31, 2011, I’m walking 1 million steps for RAINN.
In this update, I just passed 400,000 steps - 2/5 of the way to my goal!
So far I’ve raised about $350, but my goal is to raise $1,000 by the time the campaign is through.
I couldn’t have come this far, though, without some seriously awesome people, so in this video, I give shout-outs to everyone who’s contributed time and money to the cause so far.

This Friday, June 10, we’re having a fundraiser at Piratz Tavern in Silver Spring, Maryland. If you’re in the Washington, D.C. area, come join us for some great live music by Pirates for Sail as well as fabulous belly dancing by Rosie. All the performers’ tips will go toward the cause. Also, if you buy a CD from Pirates for Sail Friday, $4 of every purchase will be donated as well.

Between May 9 and August 31, 2011, I’m walking 1 million steps for RAINN.
In this update, I just passed 200,000 steps - 1/5 of the way to my goal!
I’m asking everybody to donate just $10 to the cause. That may not seem like a lot, but it will pay for 3 phone calls for the National Sexual Assault Hotline that RAINN operates.
If you give $100 or more, I will send you a tote bag.
No, really. I will crochet you a tote bag in your favorite color.
For serious.
